Signing a Landmark MoU with EHSCA

One of the key highlights was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between GS1 Egypt, represented by Mr. Ahmed ElKalla – Executive Director, and the Egyptian Healthcare Supply Chain Association (EHSCA) during the Africa Health Investment Conference, a key pillar of the event.

This partnership reflects a joint commitment to:

🔹 Implement global GS1 standards for product identification and traceability
🔹 Support Egypt’s national “Track & Trace” initiative — from manufacturer to patient
🔹 Build transparent, efficient, and smart medical supply chains
🔹 Empower supply chain stakeholders through continuous training, digital tools, and data integrity
🔹 Enhance inventory control, reduce waste, and improve patient safety

This MoU isn’t just a formal agreement — it’s a leap forward in aligning Egypt’s healthcare sector with international best practices and the country’s digital transformation goals.

Strategic Cooperation with eHealth Egypt

Furthering its commitment to digital healthcare, GS1 Egypt signed a strategic cooperation protocol with eHealth Egypt, represented by CEO Mr. Akram Reda, during Africa Health ExCon 2025.

This partnership aims to:

🔹 Strengthen traceability and digitization in Egypt’s Universal Health Insurance System (UHIS)
🔹 Support eHealth Egypt’s mandate, established by Prime Ministerial Decree No. 2118/2021, to build a comprehensive, secure digital healthcare infrastructure
🔹 Enhance data-driven decision making and access to organized healthcare services
🔹 Improve healthcare delivery across all governorates through modern digital tools

As part of its corporate social responsibility and national development initiatives, GS1 Egypt remains a vital enabler of digital transformation in Egypt’s healthcare system — ensuring a connected, secure, and patient-centric supply chain.
