When you license a GS1 Company Prefix, you become a member, which gives you access to our online member’s center, our easy to use online tool for managing barcodes. In addition you’ll get access to our expert membership support team, an online member center to access your resources and more.
How it works
Step 1: Estimate Your Barcode Needs
Products come in many sizes, colors and package configurations (e.g. individual boxes or cases). Each of these variations may require a unique identification number. Use our Barcode Estimator below to help figure this out. Please note that as your company grows and you need additional capacity, you can come back to GS1 Egypt to license additional GS1 Company Prefixes.
Step 2: Determine your GS1 Company Prefix Pricing
A GS1 Company Prefix comes in five different “capacities” that allow you to create as few as 10 unique items and as many as 100,000 unique items. Our pricing schedule is based on the number of unique items that you need to identify. Your Initial Fee licenses the Company Prefix to you for one year. After that, you’ll pay the Annual Renewal Fee to continue using the licensed Company Prefix for your barcodes.

* One of your licensed numbers is automatically assigned to identify your company’s location (GLN) and couldn’t be assigned to any of your products.
* Add 14% (VAT) on the total participation in the first year and when the annual renewal and in accordance with the Law No. 67 of 2016
Step 3: Fill out our online application
Provide your contact information, submit proof you represent your company, choose your prefix capacity, and pay online. It’s that easy. Within one business day, you’ll get a Welcome Email from GS1 Egypt. It includes all the important information to get started including your prefix certificate and access to the online member center.
